WHY: After yesterday’s loss to the Braves, Matt Strahm and the Padres look to rescue a split of the 4-game series in Atlanta. Strahm, the former relief pitcher, is having an impressive season thus far and has actually been improving. In his last two starts, Strahm went 8 and 6 innings respectively while only allowing three total runs.
The offense will need to get going if they’re going to win today, though. Manny Machado’s home run yesterday was the only scoring they were able to manage against Max Fried and the Brave bullpen.
