WHY: Matt Strahm looks to get back to .500 with a win tonight against the hated Dodgers. Strahm, a recently converted relief pitcher, has been very successful as a starter this season, but his record still sits at 1-2 in spite of his strong performances.
He’ll have quite a challenge going against a Los Angeles lineup that is one of the very best in Major League Baseball, and one that has had a good bit of success this year against the Padres leading them to a 3-1 record over our Friars.
Offensively for the Padres, they continue to average about four runs per game this month largely powered by home runs from their power hitting outfielders Franmil Reyes and Hunter Renfroe, and their $300 million man, Manny Machado.
