May 15th Baseball locks
Yesterday’s games 2-3-1
- Cubs -113 Moneyline and U 9.5 (-120) Hendricks and Roark pitched as we expected. Hendricks dominated from start to finish. 3-1 Cubs win. Hit under and Moneyline.
- Mets at Nationals O 8 (-115) Not the slugfest we expected but the Mets scored a run in the 9th to earn a wash. Syndergaard looked excellent while Hellickson was as expected. 6-2 Mets win. Wash.
- D-Backs -164 Moneyline and -1.5 Runline (+115) misfire on both here! Musgrove was virtually unhittable. Weaver pitched well enough to win, but lack of run support and a leaky bullpen did the D-Backs in.
- Padres +137 Moneyline a lot of smart money took the underdog Padres in this one. An early error my Manny Machado led to 3 unearned runs, while 2 long balls plagued Chris Paddack.
What: Orioles vs. Yankees Game 2 (doubleheader)
Who: Yankees -260 Moneyline
Why: This is an obvious one. David Hess is starting game 1 for the Orioles and has had trouble pitching past the 5th inning. The Orioles bullpen will be taxed in game 1. Game 2 has Domingo German on the hill for the Yankees. He hasn’t been as sharp of late, but nothing the Orioles lineup can’t help with. Cashner hasn’t had much success against the Yankees in his career either.
Prediction: 6-1 Yankees
What: Angels at Twins 1:10 PM Eastern
Who: Twins -135
Why: Jake Odorizzi has been lights during his last 3 outings. He didn’t during a run in 20 innings during that stretch. More impressive? 2 of those teams were the Astros and Yankees. Trevor Cahill had a good outing in Baltimore last week, but he’s certainly not bankable for back to back strong performances.
Prediction: 4-0 Twins
What: Cardinals at Braves 7:20 PM Eastern
Who: Braves -140 and U 9 (even)
Why: Another favorite here, but for good reason. Mike Soroka has been dominant all season long. The 21 year old has yet to give up more than 1 ER in a start this year. On the flip side, Michael Wacha has had control problems on and off. He’s been largely ineffective this year. He’ll likely give up 3-4 Earned Runs, so the under is safe.
Prediction: Braves 5-2
What: Padres at Dodgers 10:10 P.M Eastern
Who: U 8 (-120)
Why: This will be the last time this week I pull this card and pick a Padres game, but Matt Strahm has been simply outstanding. Kenta Maeda has been equally as impressive. This game has pitchers duel written all over it. Should be an absolute blast to watch. I can see both starters pitching into the 8th.
Prediction: 3-2 toss up but taking the Friars.
