Can the Padres bounce back after losing to the Cardinals?

MLB: Spring Training-San Diego Padres at Kansas City Royals Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants

WHAT: Luis Urias is batting lead off as the Padres look to bounce back.

WHEN: Monday, April 8th, at 6:45 p.m. PT

WHERE: Oracle Park

HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.

WHY: The Padres won the series over the Cardinals, but did so while losing the final game of the series. Today, they get another crack at the Giants, this time in San Francisco. It’s a rematch of the Padres home opener with Erik Lauer and Madison Bumgarner on the mound.

Lauer and the Friars bullpen held the Giants scoreless the first time around which allowed the offense’s anemic output of two runs to carry the day and get the season started off right. Tonight, we will hope for a repeat of the pitching performance, but ideally the bats will feature more positively than they did in March (and yesterday for that matter).

But more important than all of that is that Luis Urias is up with the big league club and he’s batting leadoff!
