WHAT: Padres look to bounce back after a gutting loss to the Nationals.
WHEN: Monday, April 29, 2019, at 4:20 p.m.
WHERE: SunTrust Park
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Soft-tossing rookie Nick Margevicius takes the mound following yesterday’s extra inning loss to the Washington Nationals. Today’s start against the Atlanta Braves comes on the heels of Margevicius’ five-walk outing against the Seattle Mariners, and it will be interesting to see if he can regain the control that had previously been his calling card during this young season.
Offensively, the Padres will be without rookie phenom Fernando Tatis Jr. after he suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday. Tatis has been the Friars’ best player through 28 games and his absence will challenge a lineup that was already ineffective with him in it. This would certainly be a good time for Manny Machado to start hitting like the future Hall of Famer that he is.
