The starting rotation needs help
Eric Lauer, Joey Lucchesi, and Nick Margevicius started off the season on a hot streak. In the last three games, each of them has crashed back down to earth. Margevicius gave up 5 earned runs off of 7 hits in just 4 innings tonight.
Some Padres just can’t hit
Wondering where the rallies have gone? Here are the batting averages of some regular starters on the San Diego Padres:
.194 Eric Hosmer
.148 Ian Kinsler
.100 Luis Urias
.143 Francisco Mejia
Urias came off the bench in this one, but the other three were in the starting rotation. Group them together with Margevicius and his .200 batting average, and that’s nearly half of the Padres’ lineup at-or-under the Mendoza line.
Myers stays hot
Wil Myers is back over .300, and now well over .300, after a great couple of games during this 3-game losing streak for San Diego. He also hit another huge HR for the Padres:

The Padres welcome the 5-10 Cincinnati Reds to town tomorrow, and hope to turn around their luck.
