Mannymania!
We knew Manny Machado was good. We knew he might be the most talented player to ever put on a San Diego Padres uniform. He reminded us anyway.
First with the bat...

I am speechless.
Another Chris Paddack Special
In Chris Paddack’s 3 starts this season, he seems to be as consistent as you could hope for...
- 5 innings, 1 ER vs. SF
- 4 innings, 0 ER vs. STL
- 5 innings, 1 ER vs. ARI
You’re hoping that he eventually learns how to get the same output with less pitches and can do deeper into games, but I’m not arguing with a 1.29 ERA.
Another MLB pitching debut
After his stellar outing last night, Pedro Avila was sent back to the minors so that his roster spot could be given to Gerardo Reyes. Once again, the Padres were relying on a pitcher that had spent no time or limited time at the AAA level (Reyes has 3 total innings pitched at AAA, all this year). Once again, it worked out brilliantly.
Reyes got a groundout and a strikeout to close out the 6th inning, and will definitely get a couple of more opportunities to make a mark on the major-league club this season.
