WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
WHAT: Padres look to get off to a better start than their last series with the D’Backs
WHEN: Thursday, April 11th, at 6:40 p.m. PT
WHERE: Chase Field
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Fresh off another series win, the Padres are rolling out a 22-year old rookie pitcher, Pedro Avila, making his first Major League start. Avila was a standout player for Double-A Amarillo last season and acquitted himself well in four Spring Training starts last month. He will face a serious challenge in Arizona who scored 19 runs across three games the last time they took on the Padres.
Led by big-ticket free agent Manny Machado and top prospect Fernando Tatis Jr, the Padres offense will need to find a way to put up some runs for the rookie if they want to give him any chance of walking away with a W in his first start.
