Another series victory!
The San Diego Padres are now 8-5, but more importantly, they have won 3 of the 4 series that they’ve played this season. The more series they win, the better this season will go for the Padres and their fans.
Margevicius the Great
Nick Margevicius was added to the starting rotation at the MLB level after never having pitching in either AA or AAA minor-league level. It was an otherworldly jump that almost nobody could survive.
A masterful performance on both sides as @NMarge25 earns his first @MLB win! #FriarFaithful pic.twitter.com/2bg28sEPrG

Through 3 starts, Margevicius has an ERA of 1.69 and a WHIP of 0.69. It’s ridiculously early, but those are incredible numbers. He got the win today, his first, and the bullpen pitched 3 scoreless innings behind him.
Machado’s HR
The Padres didn’t need a lot of scoring today, and with the score tied 1-1, they get all they needed to win the game when Manny Machado hit a HR to right field.

It was his third HR of the season, and an important one for San Diego.
