In other words, Franchy is butt-hurt

One of many intetresting tidbits from AJ Cassavell’s article for MLB.com last night was the revelation that outfielder Franchy Cordero has sufffered....wait for it....

...wait for it.....

...waiiiiiiit for it.....

...yet another injury.

After a 2019 season that saw Cordero generally precluded from athletic activity due to an avalanche of injuries, it appears that the 2019-2020 offseason is off to an uninspiring start. The 25-year-old suffered a glut injury during an AZ rehab session and, while it isn’t expected to be a serious injury, it’s hardly encouraging given the outfielder’s frustrating inability to stay on the field in recent years.

Last year, in particular, would have been a good time for Cordero to get right, as the club struggled against right-handed pitching and were forced to run out an unproductive pairing of Wil Myers and Manuel Margot in center.

Will we ever see Cordero on the right side of the injured list? At this stage, it’s awfully hard to envision where the powerful Dominican fits into the club’s plans.

Though he’s wowed fans with some tape measure shots during his time in a Padre uniform, Cordero acquires a bit more of a Ruben Rivera feel with each passing, injury-marred campaign. Get well already, Franchy!
