It happened folks. It really happened.
After years of back-and-forth between fans, ownership, and media members (not to mention a few mysterious focus groups), the Padres finally unveiled their new brown uniforms on Saturday night. One was not disappointed.

While there had been much consternation that the franchise would over-emphasize previous, historical designs, or hew too closely to recent alternate Friday uniforms in brown, it appears that the design/marketing elements within the org really struck a nice balance.
These unis feature pinstripes, similar to teams of old. There’s the brown/yellow foundation. And, perhaps in a nod to the team’s Petco Park-opening “sand” uniforms, their road alternate will be in a beautiful sand pinstripe.
(One would have liked to have seen Eric Hosmer and Fernando Tatis Jr. switch unis for the purposes of Saturday night’s unveiling, if only because you know El Niño’s skin tone would look fire in that deep brown, whereas Hosmer has a bit of a Forest Ranger vibe going for him in these.)
What does everyone think?

I’m either colorblind, a Rockies fan, or a veteran of the Navy, because I wanted the Pads to stay in their staid blues.
