Padres 3, Angels 7: Galvis homers again in loss to Angels

MLB: Los Angeles Angels at San Diego Padres Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Another game, another Freddy Galvis home run. Galvis has extended his HR streak to 3 games, but a Galvis HR ain’t enough to take the W. The Padres drop another against the Angels, falling behind quick and not quite catching up.

Brett Kennedy couldn’t keep things together for his five inning start, giving up 9 hits and 5 earned runs, one of them a homer. The Angels also pulled runs from Trey Wingenter and Robert Stock, scoring in five different innings against the Pads’ pitching.

Myers third base report: In the third inning with one out and one on, Wil charged a slow roller, barehanding it and slinging it to first for a quick out.

The Friars offense came first from Galvis’ tenth homer of the season, which came in the bottom of the fourth inning, a changeup taken to right field on a full count. In the 6th, Cory Spangenberg ripped an RBI-triple to bring home Hunter Renfroe, and Manuel Margot brought home Spangy on a sac fly.

The Pads will wrap up the series against the Angels tomorrow with Robbie Erlin taking the mound,
