Opening Series got me like

After getting swept by the Brewers in the Opening Series the Padres will have an opportunity to get their first win of the season against the visiting Colorado Rockies. You’ll get to see plenty of the Rocks this month (10 out of 28 games).

Stepping up and making his regular season debut is Bryan Mitchell, former Yankee starting pitcher/bullpen arm. Mitchell had an ok Spring Training with most of his struggles being in locating his pitches. Since Spring Training stats don’t matter we’ll get a fresh look at Mitchell in his extended look as a starter against an upstart Colorado team that fell to the Diamondbacks in the NL Wild Card last season.

The Rockies (1-2) will send Chad Bettis to the mound. You may remember Bettis as a feel-good story last year: diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016, Bettis underwent treatment and was ready to go for the 2017 season only to find out the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes. Chad would undergo treatment against and reappeared in a Rockies uniform last August, finishing the season with 9 starts and a 5.05 ERA. His last game was a strong appearance against the Dodgers where he allowed only one run on four hits.

The Padres will have to move on from their three-game slump and push for the first win of the season tonight. Tune in at 7:10 PM PST and root for that first win!
