A hard fought rally to tie the game led to another heartbreaking loss for a now-struggling Padres squad sending Luis Perdomo to wrap up the series against NL rival Los Angeles.
I’d normally have a stat snippet for Perdomo here about his last game but the most noteworthy thing he did was throw behind Nolan Arenado, follow with a throw of his glove and you know the rest. Perdomo’s scheduled start got pushed to today thanks to a suspension for his shenanigans in Colorado. Perdomo’s start will allow Tyson Ross and Clayton Richard the benefit of two extra days off thanks to the off day on Thursday. So far Perdomo is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA though he has only allowed 1 run over 9 hits in 7 cumulative innings (2 starts).
Taking the ball for the Dodgers is Kenta Maeda. Maeda has been so-so for the Dodgers despite the base stats (1-1, 2.08 ERA). Maeda only lasted 2 2⁄3 innings against Arizona in his last start, allowing 5 runs with only 2 of those being earned runs. Maeda hasn’t had the best record when facing the Friars either, going 3-3 with a 4.50 ERA in 8 starts against San Diego.
Tonight's finale starts at 7:10PM PST. Let's get at least one win to take on the road!
