Today’s Spring Training action will see two different debuts for both teams. Wil Myers will make his Spring Training debut in right field against the Angels. Of lesser note (but greater media importance) is the debut of one Shohei Ohtani (batter version), who will DH and bat 2nd in the opposing lineup.

Also of particular note in today’s action is the movement of Hunter Renfroe to left field to make room for Wil in right. Manny Margot will take center field today and Franchy Cordero will DH after manning center yesterday and smacking a dinger. Cordero has been mentioned by Andy Green as a potential platoon player for all 3 outfield spots.
Taking the hill for the start today will be Jordan Lyles, one of the many starting pitching/bullpen candidates the Padres and Andy Green will be looking at throughout Spring Training. Expect an amalgamation of relief arms and various names to follow throughout the game. Cameo appearances from minor leaguers such as Josh Naylor, Michael Gettys, Gabriel Arias, Luis Urias, and Fernando Tatis, Jr. have been spotted throughout the latter portion of ST games so far, so keep your eyes peeled on the field and in the batter’s box.
Today’s action starts up at 12:10PM Left Coast Time on FSSD and MLB radio in case you’re stuck at work.
