Yesterday the San Diego Padres opened up their 2018 Spring slate with their annual charity game against the Seattle Mariners. Nineteen-year-old phenom prospect, Fernando Tatis Jr., led the highlight reel with a powerful opposite-field home run, but the Padres lost the 3-2 contest.
Tatis will be in the starting nine today, as we welcome back a couple of old friends to the mound. Tyson Ross and Chris Young will both toe the rubber against the Oakland Athletics in Mesa. The veteran righties, both of whom were Padres All Stars at one point, were signed to Minor League deals over the offseason in hopes of competing for roster spots this Spring.
You can tune in to a live audio webcast of today's game on MLB.com at 12:05 pm PT.
