The San Diego Padres wrap up their 2017 home slate this afternoon with their series finale against the Colorado Rockies. Luis Perdomo will take the mound opposite German Marquez as the Friars try to hold on for the series win.
Perdomo is coming off a winning decision against the playoff-bound Diamondbacks. He threw 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball with only four hits allowed, but he struggled with his command, issuing six walks. He also struggled in his last start against the Rockies, only lasting 2 1/3 innings at Coors Field and giving up seven runs (five earned). But he pitched much better against them back in May at Petco Park, putting together a one-run six-inning performance.
Marquez is 1-1 in his two previous starts against San Diego this season, with the loss coming at Petco Park. He allowed six earned runs on eight hits and a walk in five innings of work, but he also struck out nine batters along the way.
