The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will play a rare doubleheader today. The first game will be a make-up game for a rainout between the two teams back on May 7th, and feature a pitching matchup of Clayton Richard and Brock Stewart.
Richard will be making his fifth start against L.A. this season, having gone 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA in his previous four attempts. Through his career, however, he is 7-6 with a 4.15 ERA against the Dodgers
The rookie Stewart is making just his fourth start of the year. He's been efficient out of the bullpen, but his previous three starting attempts haven't gone his way. In those three starts he posted a 6.52 ERA while combining for only 9 2/3 innings. In contrast, he has a 1.26 mark as a reliever this season, averaging over two innings per appearance.
