We’re fast approaching the anniversary of Tony Gwynn’s 3,000th hit on August 6th, 1999. It seems like ages ago. Dex and I were in the Grand Canyon unawares of the feat until the next day while many of you were watching the game live in San Diego. Meanwhile San Diego’s Metro Transit System was planning a Twitter giveaway for 18 years later. The giveaway looks to be a matchbox sized wrapped bus signed by Tony Gwynn. It’s unclear since there is no banana for scale. All you have to do is retweet for a chance to win this collector’s item that none of us knew existed until now. Oh what a treasured keepsake it will be!
