Padres Preview: 07/27 vs. Mets

MLB: Atlanta Braves at San Diego Padres Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

The Padres and Mets play the final game of their four-game set at Petco Park this evening. A win for the home team would mean a series split, and on the mound to try to make that happen will be Luis Perdomo, making his first ever appearance against New York. The Mets will counter with Chris Flexen, who will be making his Major League debut.

Through his first 17 games of the season, Perdomo is 4-5 with a 4.71 ERA. In his most recent start, he went six innings at AT&T Park against the Giants. In that outing he gave up four runs, though only one was earned.

Flexen, who was drafted by the Mets in 2012, was promoted to the big league club from Double-A Binghamton. The 23-year-old has made ten starts for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies this year, going 6-1 with a 1.76 ERA and two complete games under his belt.
