Wins are fun, home runs are fun, diving catches left and right are fun. Tonight the Padres brought out the good stuff with Manuel Margot back in the lineup and Jhoulys Chacin on the mound.
Chacin wasn’t half bad, going 5 and some innings only allowing 2 runs despite throwing almost a hundred pitches and issuing 3 walks. He ended the night striking out 5 and keeping the Mets to 4 hits. With support from Baumann, Stammen, Yates, and Brad Hand, the combined pitching effort kept the Mets to 3 runs, 5 hits, and flirted with double digit strikeouts.
Meanwhile, the Padres bats collected double digit hits. With Margot returning for a multi-hit night, smashing a first inning 2-run home run.

Other RBI’s would come in the third from a back-to-back Wil Myers double and Luis Torrens triple, Luis’ first three-bagger of the season.

While the Pads were hitting, it was the defense that lit up the field tonight.
An interesting slide-and-lounge catch from Jabari Blash in near-foul territory. A smooth dive-and-slide from Hunter Renfroe. A diving catch from Margot, and then a full-extension run-saver from Allen Cordoba:

Stars were being hung left and right, runs were scoring, pitching was going full steam. Any way you cut it, tonight was a fun win. Enjoy it!
