Padres Preview: 07/22 @ Giants

MLB: San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Last night's game, which lasted almost five hours and went into this morning, belonged to the Padres. Today they'll try to secure a series win against the Giants in game three of the four-game set in San Francisco.

Luis Perdomo makes the start for San Diego. He'll be trying to rebound from his last outing, one of his worst performances in the big leagues. He lasted only 2 1/3 innings against the Rockies at Coors Field, giving up seven runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks while failing to strike out any batters. Perdomo has a 4.50 ERA in six career appearances (four starts) against the Giants. Earlier this season he threw six solid innings in a start at AT&T Park, allowing three runs (only one earned) on six hits while issuing no walks and collecting five strikeouts.

Giants starter Matt Moore, however, will be looking to do more of what he did in his last start. He pitched seven innings against Cleveland, giving up four runs, though only two were earned. He also struck out five batters along the way. The veteran southpaw, who is in his second season with the Giants, is making his first career start against the Friars.
