A typically offense heavy night at Coors Field opened up the series between the Padres and Rockies, with the home team coming out victorious. The Friars look to even up the series tonight as they send another rookie to the mound.
Dinelson Lamet makes his Coors Field debut this evening for his ninth start of the season. It's also his first career start against the Rockies, who are coming off their first set of consecutive wins since mid-June. So far in his first Major League season, Lamet is 3-3 with a 5.93 ERA. He struggled in his last start, though, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and four walks, only lasting four innings before exiting the game.
Antonio Senzatela gets the start for Colorado after a brief demotion to Triple-A Albuquerque. He also struggled in his last Major League start against another NL West rival. In five innings against the Diamondbacks on June 22nd, he gave up nine runs through five innings of work. Following that start, he pitched out of the bullpen a couple of times and then was optioned to the Isotopes for one Triple-A start.
