After a quick three-game homestand (and series win over the Giants) to open up the second half of the 2017 season, the Padres are on the road again and facing another NL West rival.

Tonight Luis Perdomo returns to the mound to kick off a series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. The young righty hasn't pitched since July 5th, a five-inning performance against Cleveland. He allowed only two runs (one earned) on nine hits, with no walks and four strikeouts. This will be Perdomo's third time pitching at Coors Field, but first time as a starter.

The Rockies will give the ball to a rookie as well. German Marquez, who hasn't pitched since July 7th, will get the start in the series opener, seeking his seventh win of the season. Marquez has faced the Padres three times in his young career. His first appearance against them as a starter took place back on June 2nd when the Rockies visited Petco Park. He gave up six earned runs on eight hits and a walk, but he also strick out nine batters through five innings of work.
