The Atlanta Braves started game two against the Padres putting Bartolo Colón out on the mound, his first start since June 5th when he gave up 8 runs to the Phillies, he lasted just three innings. The Friars put out Luis Perdomo, coming off a 6-inning 2-hit shutout against the Tigers on June 23rd.
Perdomo fared a little better than Colón for this start, though Luis’ start would eventually get sloppy. He went 5 innings shutting down the Braves until a flurry of singles racked up 4 runs in an inning. Perdomo would exit the game completing 5.1 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs while striking out 4.
The Friars lineup dolled the damage across the game, totaling 7 runs. The scoring started in the first with a Cory Spangenberg two-run RBI double, which scored the returning Manuel Margot and Hunter Renfroe. Renfroe would go on to smack his first career triple in the 4th, scoring Margot and Wil Myers.
