We’re not going to recap every single run the Diamondbacks scored tonight, because we’d be here a very long time. The snakes hammered Clayton Richard, sending him packing in the fourth inning after taking the veteran lefty for six runs on eight hits and three walks. Craig Stammen didn’t fare much better when we took over. Three runs on four hits in under two innings would have sunk the Padres even if Richard hadn’t totally imploded. On the upside, Miguel Diaz only allowed one hit over an inning and two thirds.
The good news is that the offense showed up, scoring three runs on ten hits. Yangervis Solarte went 3-for-4 while Wil Myers and Hunter Renfroe both picked up a double. Of course, the biggest hit of the night came from Jabari Blash, who took Patrick Corbin deep in the seventh. And don’t sleep on the defense from Manuel Margot.

Hopefully tomorrow’s game won’t be quite so bad. Trevor Cahill certainly doesn’t want that, as he’ll be on the mound at 6:40 PM.
