With an extra-innings loss to the Marlins last night, the Padres will hope to seize another series win with the return of Luis Perdomo to the mound.
Perdomo (0-0, 8.44 ERA) looked solid outside of a rough 5th inning against the Giants in his only outing of the season so far. His trip to the disabled list had many fans whispering of a “opening day starter” curse with comparisons to one Tyson Ross, but skipper Andy Green is feeling good about Luis returning to the mound.
via Green:
Perdomo does seem to have the number against the Marlins, earning two of his nine wins last year against the Fish.
Facing off against Perdomo and the Padres will be Tom Koehler (0-1, 5.40 ERA). Koehler did not have his best stuff in his last outing, walking five and allowing five runs on seven hits in a loss against the Mariners. The Padres will look to take advantage of a pitcher coming off a bad start to take another series win. Game time is 1:40 PM Left Coast Time.
