The Padres were downed by the White Sox last night. Today they've got a quick turnaround as they're set to host the Diamondbacks at 12:10. Today we'll get our first look of the year at Jarred Cosart. The Padres acquired him in the big trade with the Marlins last Summer, along with Josh Naylor, Luis Castillo, and Carter Capps. He started nine games for San Diego, posting a 6.03 ERA and 1.741 WHIP. He's eyeing one of the vacant rotation spots going into the season, so these Spring Training appearances will hold a good amount of weight for him.

In addition to Cosart, we should also expect to see Christian Bethancourt back on the mound in relief for the second time this Spring. He pitched a scoreless, hitless inning of work on Wednesday afternoon against the Athletics, working very efficiently (11 pitches total) for a groundout and two fly balls.

On the hill for Arizona will be Patrick Corbin, who's also looking to earn a rotation spot with his team this Spring. He'll try to build off a successful first Spring outing, in which he threw two scoreless innings, allowing a walk but no hits, and striking out three batters.

Today's game won't be on the radio anywhere, but it'll be available for viewing on Fox Sports San Diego and MLB.TV.
