Tell us your Opening Day / Home Opener horror stories!

FanPost Friday is back! I know you've all missed it tremendously the past few weeks, but we're back in action now so no need to worry.

Three days from now the Padres will open up their 2017 season, and a week from now they’ll play their first game of the year at Petco Park. Opening Day and/or the home opener is always an exciting time, regardless of how bleak the upcoming season looks (and in the Padres’ case, well... the young hitters will be fun to watch at least). But sometimes, you get to the stadium and you’re at the game and for whatever reason it just doesn’t live up to your expectations.

Still, those moments usually still make for good stories, at least, when you look back at them. So today I’m going to ask you to share those stories. What was your worst Opening Day ever? Was it the time the Padres’ Opening Day starter served up eight runs to the Dodgers, followed by seven more runs allowed by the bullpen, all while the Padres put up a nice round goose egg? Did something happen off the field that made the experience especially forgettable for you? Did it ruin the rest of your season, or were you soon able to bounce back and get back to enjoying the magic that is baseball?

As always, feel free to hit me up on Twitter or shoot me an email (jodes0405@gmail.com) if you need any help with your FanPost. Hopefully this year’s Opening Day won’t be a contender for this prompt in the future.
