The Padres game vs. the Rockies was momentarily delayed today due to a swarm of bees in Peoria Stadium. The insidious insects made themselves a little nest up on the field microphone, took in the game for a spell, got bored like the rest of us and decided to attack and kill anything that wasn’t laying flat on the ground. Fortunately the Padres hit the deck just in time.
This reminds me of the time in 2009 when bees infested Petco Park and delayed a game. Dex explained how it due to a ball girl keeping her bee collection in her jacket pocket. Classic.
