The Padres are coming off their first tie in years. In a game that really showcased Austin Hedges' offensive progress, the bullpen couldn't contain the White Sox' hitters and the two teams combined for 18 runs.
Today the Padres conclude Cactus League play with a game at home against the Rockies, and Clayton Richard will get the final start in Peoria. The lefty has pitched 18 1/3 innings this Spring, allowing 18 runs (15 earned) on 28 hits and six walks, with six strikeouts to his credit. He'll go into the station as the number 2 starter in the Padres rotation, which was finalized today after some heavy competition this Spring.
Another left-hander, Tyler Anderson, will start for the Rockies this afternoon. In five Cactus League starts, Anderson threw a combined 13 1/3 innings and gave up ten runs (six runs) on 16 hits and a couple of walks. He also collected 13 strikeouts this Spring.
