The field at Petco Park has recovered from the flooding from earlier in the week. The grounds crew and those assisting have laid the sod and laser leveled the infield. Based on the tweets below it looks like the field will be playable in the very near future. I’ve never heard of the “laser the skin infield” procedure. I started watching videos on YouTube and reading about it but it was just far too boring for me to continue. I think the big takeaway is that they use lasers to level the dirt. Here’s an idea: they should have the dancing grounds crew guy start laser leveling between innings and then he can start dancing among the lasers like he’s at a rave when the music starts.
