The Padres have split squad action going on today in Arizona, with one team taking on the Rockies at home and the other team hitting the road for a game against the Cubs.

Jarred Cosart will take the mound in Peoria against the Rockies. It’ll be his fourth Cactus League start. In 6 2/3 innings so far this Spring he’s allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out four batters while limiting them to one walk.

In that game he’ll go opposite Tyler Chatwood, who is going into his sixth season with the Rockies. The right-hander has made four starts this Spring, including one against San Diego that saw him give up one run on two hits and a walk through two innings of work. Overall he's pitched 13 innings, allowing five runs on 16 hits (including two homers) and three walks with 12 strikeouts.

Over in Mesa, Trevor Cahill will get the ball against the Cubs. He's coming off a fantastic outing - his longest of the Spring at five innings - in which he kept the Giants to just one run via solo homer, his only hit allowed. He also walked two, but notched seven strikeouts.

Getting the nod for Chicago will be Alec Mills. The 2017 season will be his first with a team other than the Royals, so drafted him in 2012. In the Cactus League appearances this Spring, he's thrown six innings and allowed six runs (four earned) on ten hits and three walks, striking out four batters along the way.

Today's home broadcast against the Rockies will be on FM 94.9 and you can listen to the Cubs radio broadcast on MLB.com for that game.
