The Breitbard Hall of Fame in Balboa Park is relocating to Petco Park in the coming season. Comic-Con International is moving into the current facility to show off their popular comic art all year round.
The Hall of Fame has some really great historical pieces in its collection and those will be moved to the other side of Balboa Park in the San Diego History Center.
From what I understand, most of the spectacular stuff in the Padres exhibit is on loan from the Padres (or John Moores?) so I’m hoping that it is moved into the underwhelming Padres Hall of Fame presented by Sony.
“Bob Breitbard was one of San Diego’s greatest sports leaders,” said Padres Executive Chairman Ron Fowler, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Hall of Champions. “The San Diego Hall of Champions is an important community asset and this move positions the organization for a bright, sustainable future. The Padres are glad to welcome the Breitbard Hall of Fame to Petco Park.”
San Diego loves its renderings, so you can take a look at what Petco Park will look like after it is transformed throughout the 2017 season.
