Well, there was a small opportunity to take a few wins against the Dodgers as the final month of the regular season has arrived. The first game of the series went in San Diego's favor, after some tight pitching and opportune hitting spelled victory. Then, the Friars let the next two fall to the wayside.
Christian Friedrich didn't have too great of a game today. In less than 5 innings he allowed 4 earned runs, giving up 6 hits, a home run, and 3 walks. Kevin Quackenbush gave up a run as well, and Ryan Buchter didn't help at all allowing two more runs in the 7th. Quackenbush gave up the go-ahead and earned the L.
The Padres battled back, well, mostly Yangervis Solarte battled back. He popped off a 2-run HR in the 3rd, scoring Travis Jankowski. Jankowski hit himself an RBI single in the 5th, and Solarte brought him home again, this time with a sac fly.
That was all the scoring though, and as the Dodgers ran up the score the Padres couldn't catch up.
