The Padres have got me checked out like a library book. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to hang for 3+ years while the team tanks in hopes of rebuilding. As it is I’m barely hanging on. Maybe I'll just catch up with you dudes on the flip side. How do fans do this? Why does baseball reward teams that lose? None of this makes any sense.
And don’t get me wrong, the Padres sucked really bad before when they were trying to compete, but at least then I believed that someone on the team was trying to win. And yes, I know that tanking doesn’t mean the players are purposely throwing the game. It’s more about putting players on the field (executives in the front office) that can’t win no matter how hard they try.
That brings us to the Padres team that was just swept by the Braves, a team that's also tanking, who are the worst team in the National League and only behind the Twins in all of baseball. The Braves destroyed the Padres too, how are we supposed care? Even the young talent is trapped in some dumb minor league race and isn’t allowed to entertain us. I'm all turned around, trying to root for a loss and such.
Let's just see how much you care about the team now that Matt Kemp isn't here to entertain you. Take this expanded roster quiz and then discuss your answers in the comments but remember to use the spoiler button to conceal the player's names so you don't ruin the quiz for others.
