The Padres are coming off a fun little sweep in San Francisco against the Giants. After their off day yesterday they’ll continue their road trip tonight against another division rival, the Colorado Rockies.
Christian Friedrich faces his former team for a second consecutive start, and third time overall this season. He pitched his best game of the season last Saturday, throwing seven scoreless innings and keeping the Rockies to only two hits and a walk while collecting a season-high ten strikeouts, which ties a career record for the southpaw.
Tyler Chatwood will make the start for Colorado looking to continue his success against San Diego. Chatwood earned the win against the Padres his last time out, a week ago at Petco Park, keeping them to one run on five hits and three walks. Through three starts against the Friars in 2016, Chatwood boasts a 1.69 ERA.
