There has been quite a flurry of accomplishment and accolades swirling around the El Paso Chihuahuas lately. Two days ago second baseman Carlos Asuaje was named the Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Year. Then, yesterday, the Padres' AAA affiliate clinched their second consecutive division title. Today right fielder Hunter Renfroe made it a trifecta by being named the PCL Most Valuable Player.

Renfroe's home/road splits have been rather pronounced, leaving many of us to wonder how he'll fare when the Linus-blanket that is Southwest University Park is pulled away from him, but apparently voters were not fazed.

G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K Line OPS

Away 66 279 267 33 66 15 3 12 45 10 63 .247/ .276/ .461 .737

Yeesh. As you can see, he's still a work in progress. But then again, aren't we all? Regardless of his Jekyll and Hyde performance, the Padres' top pick of the 2013 draft now has a shiny plaque that the rest of us projects don't have, and no amount of scrawny skeptics on the internet can take that away from him.
