After losing their lead and landing on the losing end of a walkoff last night, the Padres will try to even up the series against the Marlins tonight.

Clayton Richard will take the mound in game 2 at Marlins Park, still looking for his first win of 2016. This will be his third start of the year, after being used solely as a reliever for four months in Chicago (and then for his first two appearances for the Padres). He lost his first two starts, each time allowing only two runs to make his ERA 4.44 on the season. Richard has had four career starts against the Marlins, going 2-1 with a 2.55 ERA.

Miami’s Jose Urena has only faced the Padres once so far before, and it wasn’t pretty. He allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits through five innings of work in 2015. Today will be his sixth start of the season. Like Richard, he’s spent most of his 2016 season in the bullpen. He’s amassed a 6.33 ERA and 2-4 record overall.
