SD 3, LAD 4: Pads get edged out by a run

The Friars drop the second to last game before the break.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Today's loss was a bit less theatrical in comparison to last nights. The Padres brought good pitching, and the bats were fine, but the Dodgers had that little something more.

Luis Perdomo was doing just fine today. He allowed all 4 runs, but was only credited for 2 of them. He gave up 9 hits, and struck out 3 Doyers. Four was all they needed, but for good measure Brad Hand and Ryan Buchter held the line giving the Padres a chance to be the ones to hit the go-ahead.

The offense came from Yangervis Solarte and Travis Jankowski. Solarte clocked his 8th home run right out to center field, scoring Jankowski. Jankowski hit himself an RBI-single later to score Alexei Ramirez to tie things up. A couple of doubles and a force ground-out RBI from Los Angeles trumped that, though.

Tomorrow Christian Friedrich will get the chance to win the final game before the All Star break, facing off against Kenta Maeda.
