We’ve been waiting with bated breath to find out which Padre player would be chosen to be the lone representative of the team on All-Star weekend. It was Wil Myers as many suspected. Congrats to him. It’s nice to have a position player make the team. It’s not nearly as much fun with pitchers.
Myers was chosen as a reserve, so now the only question is will he play? What are we thinking? Maybe an at-bat? An inning in the field? Late in the game? That’s kind of how the All-Star Game unfortunately works these days. I’m hoping since the game is in San Diego the NL All-Star Manager Terry Collins will feel pressured to play him more than he normally would. Perhaps as DH. That’d be rad.
Myers is also the All-Star ambassador and apparently wants in on the home run derby too. He could have a busy weekend ahead of him.

Wil Myers is aware the NL's DH spot is still open in the starting lineup: If I could DH and start, I’d rather DH and start.
