We’ve heard Derek’s name floated around in the last few weeks and now with the trade deadline looming Ken Rosenthal reports via Twitter that he’s a “near lock” to be moved. The Rangers and Astros are both teams mentioned to be interested.
Reported last night that #Padres’ Norris more likely for #Rangers than #Brewers’ Lucroy. Others also on Norris. Near-lock to be moved.

SB Nation’s own Chris Cotillo says the Rangers aren’t serious yet, suggesting they might want Lucroy but may settle for Norris.
Source: Rangers indeed "in the conversation" for Derek Norris, but doesn't appear serious yet. @Ken_Rosenthal mentioned. HOU a fit too.

Jeff Passan chimes in saying that Lucroy and Norris are still very much on the Rangers’ radar.
Rangers continue to poke around in the catching market. Currently keeping tabs and doing background work on Kurt Suzuki and Derek Norris.

Norris told the Mighty 1090 yesterday that the team’s clubhouse mood “sucks”, after the recent whirlwind of trades by GM A.J. Preller. He quickly turned positive though, speaking about the opportunities now available for other players to make their mark. Norris says he knows he is also likely to be traded and he’s trying not to let it affect his game. “You thinking about it does not change anything that’s going on.”
