On a night where the biggest news for the Padres isn't clinching a series win against the Rockies, Wil Myers and Derek Norris did their parts to right the ship and secure a series win against the 3rd place Colorado Rockies.

Just like Matt Kemp last night, Wil Myers got things going for the Padres early in the first inning with a solo shot in the first inning off of Chad Bettis.

The Rockies wouldn't go down without scoring tonight, however. Charlie Blackmon scored a double off of Andrew Cashner in the top of the 2nd inning, scoring both Mark Reynolds and Nick Hundley and taking the lead 2-1.

Derek Norris would answer back with a two run shot of his own later in the inning, scoring Brett Wallace and giving the Pads the lead for good, 3-2.

Matt Kemp would also score an inning later, drilling a ground ball into left field that brought Jon Jay home.

The Rocks would score once more in the 4th inning off of a Mark Reynolds home run. The game went to the pitching staff for the rest of the night, with the recently returned Kevin Quackenbush holding things effectively enough for Fernando Rodney to shut the door on the Rockies 4-3.

Andrew Cashner had a decent, if good enough night with three runs allowed on eight hits over 5 2/3rds innings. His counterpart Chad Bettis fared a bit worse, allowing four runs on ten hits in five innings.

Tomorrow's game will go to the bullpen, as some amalgamation of Luis Perdomo, Carlos Villanueva and Brad Hand could see action in the series finale against Jon Gray at 6:10 PM.
