The Padres are on a bit of a hot streak lately, with yesterday marking their sixth win in seven games. They’ve already clinched the series win against the Reds. Today they go for the sweep in the finale of the four-game set.
On the hill for San Diego this morning will be Luis Perdomo, who will make his fifth start of the season. The Rule 5 draft pick has had his share of rough outings this season, going 2-2 with a 9.00 ERA (8.83 ERA as a starter) through the first three months. His most recent start was right in line with how his season is going. He gave up six earned runs on seven hits, including two homers, through five innings of work.
The Reds will send Anthony DeSclafani to the mound to try and salvage a win in the series. It’ll be his fourth start of the year, having gone 1-0 with a team-leading 2.30 ERA in his first three.
