Today is the conclusion of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Yesterday the Padres went after pitching - lots of pitching. Seven pitchers made up the team’s first seven draft picks on Day Two, with a sole position player selected in the final round of the day.

- #114 overall (4th round): Southeast Missouri State LHP Joey Lucchesi
- #144 overall (5th round): UW-Whitewater RHP Lake Bachar
- #174 overall (6th round): Wofford RHP Will Stillman
- #204 overall (7th round): Canisius High School (NY) LHP Dan Dallas
- #234 overall (8th round): Cornerstone University LHP Benjamin Sheckler
- #264 overall (9th round): Wright State University RHP Jesse Scholtens
- #294 overall (10th round): Texas A&M 2B Boomer White
