We just got an email from author/lawyer JL Bryant. Today and tomorrow you can download his novel The San Diego Curse for free on Amazon to your Kindle or other reading device.

It's his goal to make baseball mystery novels fun again. He promises it's a quick read at only 140 pages. In this work of fiction, the 2010 Padres have won the World Series and that's when things turn deadly. Ok, I'm already sold.

Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

The San Diego Curse is a fast-paced mystery novel. Evan Anderson, a San Diego Padres pitcher, is found dead after his team wins the World Series. Evan’s agent, Rodney Taylor, investigates. In retrospect, something about Game 5 of the World Series doesn’t seem right. Then two of Evan's teammates die in a car crash. But objective evidence is still hard to come by. And not everyone is excited to see Rodney Taylor play detective.

I just downloaded in preparation for Gaslamp Ball book club. Download yours and we'll talk soon.
