The Padres and Dodgers remain tied in the 17th inning after over 5 hours of playing baseball. The sweep-threatening weekend series finale began in earnest as a pitching matchup between the Padres' Colin Rea and the Dodgers' Kenta Maeda where the two twirled original for 4 and a half scoreless innings. The Padres then broke things open with a 4-0 lead. The Dodgers responded with 5 runs over the next three innings including solo home runs from Justin Turner and Howie Kendrick. An RBI triple by Melvin Upton in the 8th inning brought the game level.

And there it would stay for 8 more innings. Currently Luis Perdomo is pitching for the Padres and Ross Stripling is tossing for the Dodgers.
