Kemp-Spangy home run sandwich

Got the swing going back-to-back.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

After hitting the first Padres' home run yesterday, Matt Kemp is back at it again. Joining him for the race to close that ugly team run differential this time is Cory Spangenberg. The pairing are responsible for a 7-0 lead at the end of the top of the 6th against the Rockies. Since then, the Rockies have been squeezing out a few runs with sac flies and wild pitches.

Kemp's first shot was dunked into the bleachers and put the Friars up early 1-0. Spangy wanted to get in on the action, so with Adam Rosales pinch-running for an injured Yangervis Solarte and Derek Norris on base, he cranks one into the Rockies' bullpen.

Kemp started to think that three-run HR thing looks pretty cool, so he hit one of his own.

At the time of that HR, the Friars had climbed their run differential to an acceptable -11 status. Since then, it has bumped up one or two, but still, RUNS.
