While some fans got to enjoy their team's season opener yesterday, Padres fans had to wait an extra day. But the time is finally here to watch Tyson Ross and the rest of the Friars open up their 2016 season and their quest for a World Series.
This year is going to be a special one for San Diego, regardless of what this team accomplishes. We have a lot of new and exciting ballpark changes to get used to, not to mention the All Star Game coming to town in July. But as always, we hope for something more. And this team that AJ Preller has formed may not look flashy and it may not have the money backing it like other teams, but who knows? The 2016 Padres could be special. I'm excited to have you Gaslamp Ballers along for the ride of this season, which will probably have some lows but hopefully a lot of highs, too.
