Bats are swinging, runs are flowing. For both sides.
We're underway at Salt River Fields!

We got to see our opening star, Tyson Ross, put in his two-inning appearance, giving up a hit, a walk, and notching a K. Ross was hitting the zone with more than half of his pitches being strikes. Agreeably a smooth start to spring training exhibitions, expected to become more refined with more innings put in.
Nine hits and five runs were knocked in by a Jon Jay double, a sac-groundout from Cory Spangenberg and Jose Pirela, and an Alexei Ramirez RBI single.
Christian Bethancourt showed off his stuff, nabbing a runner in the first, and making his case to backup a Derek Norris who has publicly approved the idea and benefit of not-so-much-Norris.
Robbie Erlin will pop things off against the Chicago White Sox tomorrow, a team we'll be playing two exhibition games against in April for the Padres' upcoming FanFest.
